Our Big Weekend!

Well, okay - it was Mike's big weekend, but hey - I've been putting the food on the table...and pretty much earned both degrees vicariously via listening to the rehashing of lectures/discussions, reading and editing papers, listening and watching sermons, and all the other things that go with being a Seminary wife.

Last weekend, Mike walked twice - once for his MDiv at Truett and once for his MM at Baylor.  Sunday, he was ordained.  The ordination was long overdue, but was extremely wonderful and made more special by the people surrounding us on that great night!

Some pictures...

This is one of my favorites...Mike's two caps, gowns, and hoods being de-wrinkled (yes - he had to have two separate ones.  You'd think they could just change out the hood, but no.  They wouldn't get as much money that way.).  The red was for Divinity and the pink for Music.

Doesn't he look "masterly"?  Or at least pastoral?

These are two of Mike's Church Music profs - Dr. York and Dr. Bradley - both of whom he's had since coming to Baylor in 2000.  I'd rather have posted the picture that was minus me, but it came out blurry.

Mike's goofy smile in his graduation gift from me.  He asked for a Baylor alum polo, though he was technically an alum after his bachelor's.  I figure that after 9 years, he's earned every bit of green and gold he chooses to bleed.

Music at the BU graduation.  The organist, Dr. Joyce Jones, played at both ceremonies and was also my dad's organ prof when my dad was at BU.  The trumpet player, Wiff Rudd, played at our wedding 5 years ago.

Mike calling his mom after receiving sheepskin #2.

Pretty stoked about this accomplishment!

Mike conducting the choir at his Ordination Service...singing, "Here I Am, Lord"  (Listen to St. Olaf singing it at http://www.imeem.com/normanbi/music/I_wAze7J/the-st-olaf-choir-here-i-am-lord/).

Mike sharing his testimony and call to ministry.

Dave praying for Mike and me (Mike's kneeling, our hands are on his shoulders).  Dave is Mike's uncle, the reason we met and started dating.  Dave also baptized Mike when he was 11 and married us 5 years ago!
