Let's Call the Whole Thing Off

So after 11 years, one might think that my husband and I (hailing from different regions of the country) would have come to the point of agreeing to disagree about "correct" pronunciation (aunt = /ant/ vs. /ont/).  I thought we had.  He thought we had.  However, in light of the Stanley Cup Finals, we have come to a new word that is the cause of much laughter - and arguing - in our house these days.

Is it /pEEnguins/ or /pAYnguins/?

According to the never-fail resource of dictionary.com, neither of us is right.  It's /pEHnguins/.

Now you know.
