Out of Hiding

Well, I haven't been hiding. We're just laptop-less. And it's no fun blogging at a library desktop. Much better to blog with a good cup of tea, sitting in a comfy chair. I'm currently using Mike's laptop that is screenless and sitting on the edge of the bed with the laptop hooked up to a monitor on the nightstand. So there you go.

We've had a killer summer and by killer, I mean wonderful. I've thought of so many clever blogs to write, have taken pictures (with no place to upload them, they remain stuck in my camera for now), and wanted to post several updates, but alas, have had no outlet!

To sum up June and July: missed flights, tipping 1,000 shuttle drivers, I heart Priceline, lazy boat days, kayaking in turquoise water, 1 book/week, river charm, farm-fresh cider, "no we're not on our honeymoon," deal-searching, mountain time, historic church tours, rear-ended rental car, roaming Hampton Roads, new NOLA restaurants, packing up and moving out, girl time, nothing time.

My next blog will be either:
- two more months from now, when I need to sum up our fall OR
- Good news! We have a laptop.

***On a completely different note and a much more important one, please keep the Henson family and the White family in your prayers. The Hensons just lost their 12-year old daughter in a church bus accident (www.fbcshreveport.org). The Whites are my cousins - see January post - and on the 6-month anniversary of Jennifer's death, they learned that her older brother (my age, husband and father to 9-month old Caleb) is being summoned for a second, 12-month tour of Iraq.
